The celebrations was officially opened by the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji Barry Whiteside.
“This year calls for many reasons for celebrations,” said HFC Bank chairman Tom Ricketts.
“It’s our 3rd anniversary as a bank, we are celebrating 40 years of dedicated service of Governor Mr Whiteside and we are also marking the 55th anniversary of Home Finance Company which was established in 1962.
“Since our launch, we have introduced internet and mobile banking within months of our launch. This was followed by interchange agreement with Westpac ATMs and EFTPOS (and vice versa).”
Mr Ricketts said their expenditure in corporate social responsibility had been in excess of $1 million over the past three years through their sponsorship and donations program.
“In the past years, our profits have climbed steadily, with $4.5m profit realised in financial year 2014, $6m in financial year 2015 and $7m in financial year 2016.
“These profits are ploughed back into the Fijian economy with dividend payouts to our local shareholders (FNPF and Unit Trust of Fiji) and through re-investment into the bank.”
